I'm super excited for a class that is starting tomorrow. It's an IT class about project organization for business systems. I think it is going to be super interesting and I'm going to learn a lot. The instructor graduated from Duke and got her Masters from George Washington University. Those are two really good schools. It just goes to prove that online education is not a lesser education. I know plenty of people that went to a BM school and learned nothing but how to raise a 12 oz beer. To be successful in the online learning environment you must be self disciplined. It is a lot of self teaching and reaching out for that extra bit of information on your own. There is no one to hold your hand. So, it really doesn't matter what school you choose to go to, what matter is what you do while you are there.

Talking about content
I think when we're talking about content, we're talking about the vital information that a website contains. A website should offer more than just a company name and location. It should offer something useful and something engaging. what else can the company offer? what else does the product provide? Is there a particular service that the company recommends? People are relying more and more for the internet to provide them the information and the tools that they need. Marketing a product requires marketing the whole enchilada. Market the vision and market the dream that goes along with it. Selling a tent? Offer some good camping spots or some great camping tips? Making the website a life-tool, not just a shopping tool.
Possible New Position ?
I had an interview today for a Quality Assurance and Systems Testing position. I did an employee exchange and the position sounded really interesting. It has gotten me really thinking about ITs role in SEO. The two seem to go hand in hand in making a website function as best as it can in the world of eCommerce. I'm really hoping I am selected for the position because I feel I will learn a tremendous amount from the manager and one of the key team leads. I sat with the two of them for the interview and they both were really professional and really knew their stuff. I think I would really enjoy this role in the company. Overall, it would be a great learning experience and a nice compliment to my skill set.

Great tips
I got some great tips from a friend of mine via LinkedIn about ways to gain insightful information and to meet up with like minded individuals. Although I do believe in a quality education, I also believe that learning from your peers is essential. Who better to bounce ideas off of than one who has been in your shoes? Everyone has to start somewhere and everyone has a beginning. There's no better place to pick up some valuable information than from someone who has been there before. Do you have a mentor? Is there someone in your life that encouraged you in your career and gave you some insight and some much needed direction? I think the online community is a great way to find a mentor via social media. Social media is a great way to connect with our peers and exchange information, ideas, and inspiration. Social media is not only for Facebook updates and family photos.

Site optimization
I recently read an article about site optimization. It didn't go into much detail, but it made me very curious. What is site optimization? Is it a sister to search optimization? I'm going to have to add that to my list of research topics. I try and read whatever I can get my hands on to supplement my education in ebusiness. I'll do some digging and report back on my findings about site optimization. Perhaps it's an entirely different direction for me to consider.
Game change?
During the course of rediscovering my career-self, I have come upon several directions that I'd like to go. I really like the idea of SEO. I was attracted to it from the very beginning. I also have a strong interest in social media and content. I probably have said that before. Here's the kicker though. I find both the IT and the Marketing end of each of these very fascinating. I wish I had the time and the money to really dive into everything. I have recently checked into an QA and systems testing specialist position where I work. I was very intrigued by it and I think some experience in that field would be beneficial for me.
